Privacy policy
Your IPTV details stay private.
This policy explains the limited information used to register, activate and support IPTV Deluxe Player. It applies to the Windows application and the website at deluxeplayer.co.za.

Optional one-time service setup
You may create a one-time setup link in Manage services and give it to a person authorised to supply an IPTV service. Their browser encrypts the new service details for your player before sending them. The website temporarily holds the encrypted package and cannot decrypt its contents. It deletes the package after your player confirms safe receipt, or when the link expires after 72 hours. These packages are excluded from the licensing and owner database backups.
The delivery system keeps the player’s public keys, a device binding and licence reference to route and authorise setup links. It retains short-lived link status, replay protection and request limits without logging the link secret or provider credentials. The person holding a link cannot read or change your existing services. You confirm Add or Merge locally in your player.
Received services and setup keys are encrypted on Windows for your Windows user. Keep details private hides the server address and credentials in normal player screens; it cannot prevent a skilled person inspecting their own computer or network.
Who is responsible
IPTV Deluxe Player is operated by Peter Lewis in South Africa. For privacy, access, correction or deletion requests, use the secure support form on our Contact page. Do not include an IPTV password or playable playlist address.
Information stored on your Windows computer
Your provider details, playlist locations, playable media addresses, catalogue, profiles, favourites, viewing history, recordings, downloads and settings are stored locally. IPTV Deluxe Player does not upload your IPTV credentials, playlists, viewing history, recordings or downloads to our licensing service.
The current direct installer deliberately leaves local player data
in %LOCALAPPDATA%\IptvCatalog after uninstall so a
reinstall does not erase it. You may delete that folder after
uninstall if you want to remove all remaining local player data.
Back up anything you want to keep first.
Information used for trial registration and licensing
- Your name, email address and optional telephone number when you register.
- Email-verification status, licence status, activation and expiry times.
- A one-way hash of the requesting IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
- A one-way Windows device fingerprint when you activate or refresh a licence. It is derived on your computer; the underlying Windows machine identifier is not transmitted.
- Technical request details needed to protect, diagnose and operate the licensing service.
We use this information to verify your email, issue and check a licence, start the seven-day trial only after successful activation, prevent repeated trial abuse, provide support and secure the service. We do not use it for advertising.
Website forms and anti-bot protection
The contact and paid-licence availability forms send the details you enter to our support or sales mailbox so we can reply. If you join the paid-licence availability list, we use your name and email only to tell you when paid licences are available. The forms use a hidden bot field, completion timing and a one-way hash of the connection address for a short rate-limit window. The website does not use advertising trackers.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information. Information is disclosed only as needed to service providers that host the website and licensing API, deliver email, provide encrypted off-server backup, or process a payment you choose to make. PayPal will be identified before any PayPal transaction. PayPal handles payment details under its own privacy policy; our server verifies the amount and records the order and capture references.
If you install through Microsoft Store, Microsoft separately processes Store acquisition, update and diagnostic information under its own privacy terms. Microsoft and IPTV Deluxe Player are independent controllers of the information each processes.
Security and retention
Purchase recovery uses a short-lived email verification code before showing unused purchase activation codes. The checkout keeps a private ownership token in your browser so Check purchase can recover a lost response without taking another payment. This token is not a provider password or an advertising identifier. Licensing and purchase records, encrypted recovery material and the corresponding private encryption key are included in encrypted offsite backups.
Licensing traffic uses HTTPS. Licence records are access-controlled, verification secrets and checkout ownership tokens are stored as hashes. Purchase activation codes are also stored encrypted in private server storage to support verified recovery, and licence database backups are encrypted before they leave the server. Backups use rolling daily, weekly, monthly and yearly retention, with the longest recovery copy retained for up to three years.
Registration and licence records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to administer and support the licence, prevent repeated trial abuse, resolve disputes and meet legal or accounting duties. Support and sales messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and related obligations. Availability-list messages are kept until the paid-licence notice has been sent, unless you ask us to remove yours sooner. When data is deleted from the live system, residual encrypted backup copies expire under the rolling retention schedule and are not used except for disaster recovery.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, provide access to it, correct it, object to or restrict certain processing, or delete it where the law allows. Use the secure support form and provide enough information for us to verify the request. You can choose not to provide the optional telephone number. Licence activation cannot work without the required email-verification and device-binding information.
Children and changes
The service is not directed to children and we do not knowingly request personal information from children. We will update this page when data practices materially change and will provide any notice or consent required by law before applying a new practice.
